Attendance
Safeguarding children is our top priority at St Joseph’s and adhering to our attendance policy and guidelines forms part of our safeguarding procedures. Regular and punctual school attendance for all children is important to ensure continuity and progression in their education. It is a school’s responsibility to monitor and actively pursue the goal of regular attendance. The Government’s recommendation is for pupils to attend for 96% of the school year.
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School we expect all children to attend every day, when the school is in session, as long as they are fit and healthy to do so. We do all we can to encourage the children to attend and to put in place appropriate procedures. We are committed to working with parents as the best way to ensure a high level of attendance in line with our Mission Statement:
‘St. Joseph’s school, homes and parish work together as we learn with Hope, Live in Faith, Love in Peace, Worship and Celebrate in our Community. Building positive relationships with Christ at our centre, where each person is welcomed, respected and valued.’
