Welcome from the Head Teacher     ofsted

40mm-cross-with-textOn behalf of all staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to our school website.

St Joseph’s is a vibrant Catholic school where each child is a valued and committed member of our Christian community. Each child brings a unique contribution to our school and we work hard to ensure they have the best possible start in life. Our children are at the heart of every decision we make and we are fully committed to meeting the needs of each and every child in order for them to achieve their full potential.

Central to this is the guidance we draw from our school ethos where Christian values are experienced through our daily lives and relationships, through prayer, worship and celebration. As a Catholic school, our fundamental mission is to live by the Gospel values of love, peace, hope and faith.

We are proud of our creative curriculum which provides a rich and exciting stimulus, where high quality opportunities take into account the interests and experiences of our children. Through personalised learning within a safe and happy environment, each child can develop their skills and celebrate their talents. As a Live Simply accredited school, we are passionate about providing opportunities to develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the importance of nature, sustainability and climate change. We teach our children how to translate this knowledge and understanding into positive actions and solutions by living simply, sustainably and in solidarity with those in need. Our children are curious about the environment they live in and we increase opportunities for them to spend time in nature, learning more about it, so that they become actively involved in improving their local environment.

Our children work hard and we are delighted with their academic and personal achievements. We also pride ourselves in developing the whole child. We work together to allow children to develop themselves socially, morally and spiritually and to celebrate their unique and individual qualities.

We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child’s education and value your interest and support.

Our website aims to give you a taster of what St Joseph’s is all about along with useful and important information. Our class pages are updated regularly with parent newsletters, learning journeys, along with some really useful suggestions of how to help at home.

I hope you find your visit to our school website useful. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information or would like to come and visit us here at St Joseph’s.

Thank you for your continued support.
